Vacuum Hi-Speed Granulator Mixers & Dryers
A vertical high-shear bowl with a bottom impeller and side chopper — mix, wet-granulate, then dry the granulate to target LOD in the same bowl under vacuum. One-pot processing eliminates the transfer to a fluid-bed dryer and the containment, loss and validation burden that comes with it.
The Mixing Action
High-Shear Granulation
The bottom impeller densifies and spheronises while the chopper controls granule size — binder addition through spray lance with endpoint detection by power draw or torque.
In-Bowl Vacuum Drying
Jacketed bowl and lid, gentle intermittent impeller turnover and 10–50 mbar strip granule moisture to target LOD — with optional microwave or gas-assisted boost for stubborn duties.
Contained by Design
Charge, granulate, dry and discharge in one sealed volume. Split butterfly valves, WIP/CIP and OEB 4/5 containment integrate directly — the audit trail lives in one machine.

Single-pot processors are typically configured from a European catalog and priced accordingly. QuantumX engineers the impeller, chopper and drying package around your formulation, proves granule PSD and drying curve in trial, and writes both into the order — one manufacturer, one accountability.
Mix, Dry, React — One Vessel, Under Vacuum
At 10–100 mbar absolute, water boils between 7 °C and 46 °C — so heat-sensitive product dries at temperatures a conventional dryer cannot approach. Every QuantumX vacuum machine shares the same engineering: ASME jackets, vacuum-rated bodies, closed-loop solvent recovery, nitrogen back-fill for oxygen-free processing, and product-temperature control with full batch data logging. How vacuum drying works »
One Vessel, Three Duties
Mix, react or granulate, then dry to spec — no transfer, no loss, no re-segregation.
Solvent Recovery
Condenser, receiver and cold trap sized to the duty; solvents come back as liquid.
Oxygen-Free
Evacuate and back-fill with N₂; ATEX and inert-loop control available.
Validated Cycles
Drying curve and endpoint measured in trial, warranted at FAT.
Hi-speed granulator mixers are also built as standard atmospheric mixers — the same engineered geometry, jacket options and trial validation, without the vacuum train. Specify at enquiry.

Hi-Speed Granulator Dryers, Answered
What is single-pot (one-pot) processing?
Mixing, wet granulation and vacuum drying performed sequentially in one high-shear bowl. It removes the transfer to a fluid-bed dryer — and with it product loss, operator exposure and a second cleaning validation.
How is granulation endpoint controlled?
By impeller power draw or torque trended against the binder addition profile — established in trial and locked into the PLC recipe.
How does drying work in a granulator bowl?
Jacketed bowl and lid under 10–50 mbar with slow intermittent impeller turnover to renew wall contact. Optional gas-assisted or microwave boost shortens the tail of the drying curve.
